RESEARCH GUIDE TO ACUPUNCTURE
Publication of the World Health Organisation.

56 pages.
The issue of research methodology in acupuncture is not easy to approach because scientific research methodology can hardly encompass in a single procedural model two epistemological systems that have markedly different assumptions and principles: acupuncture, an empirically-based system based on analogical-deductive epistemes, and rationalist medicine, which has adopted analytical-synthetic epistemes. Indeed, in biomedical research in acupuncture we are currently faced with a dilemma.
This book provides researchers with detailed criteria and methods to apply in designing, conducting and evaluating their research projects in Acupuncture.
It aims to promote clinical research in Acupuncture in the [Western Pacific] Region and other parts of the world.
