Chinese Auriculotherapy. A guide to localisation, diagnosis and therapy

The text describes the location and function of more than 150 auricular acupoints, illustrated with a wealth of maps and drawings.

It contains a thorough explanation of the main techniques applied to the auricular pavilion (filiform needle, bleeding, pressure on points, massage, moxibustion, etc.), with a description of point selection and combination methods.

The section on treatments includes a detailed description of 50 pathologies; of these, in addition to a summary of the disease, from the TCM point of view, it is possible to find: the main and auxiliary points indicated, any auricular diagnostic signs, and finally the main bibliographical references relating to the clinical work carried out.

The text is also enriched by some particularly valuable appendices:

• • an extended list of auricular points that also includes less common points mentioned in the literature (a total of 230 points), containing relative indications of their functions and location
  • an alphabetical list(Pinyin and Italian) of the auricular points mentioned in the text, to facilitate research work and their recognition
  • an original study, accompanied by a specific colour map, of the points on the back of the auricle, in which about forty new points are presented for the first time in the West.

The text, which is the result of numerous efforts and research by the authors, is a valid contribution to the study of auriculotherapy. It allows a simple and didactic approach and describes its potential in a documented and up-to-date manner. In essence, it is a text that seeks to understand the best that has been expressed by Chinese auriculotherapy to date.
